My name is Mark Melanson and I have lived in Calgary for the past 6 years. I grew up in small town Alberta, Whitecourt. My parents were both teachers, and I saw firsthand the impact my parents had in the community and in shaping young people’s lives.
I moved to Calgary in 2010 for school. While I was taking my degree, I lived with my brother and his wife who were both involved in real estate. My brother, Shane, was selling residential real estate and my sister-in-law, Kelly owned her own interior design company. Seeing the impact they had on families lives, and how excited they were everyday, influenced me to start pursuing a career real estate.
Fast forward to today, I’m part of one of Calgary’s strongest real estate teams (selling a home every 13 hours in 2014).
Today, working with young people graduating and looking for a new condo or, helping a growing family find a house to raise their new children in is very rewarding. Not only do I love meeting, helping and getting to know new people, I also get to help them safely make one of the largest investments in their life. I’ve learned how critical it is to pay attention to small details, especially in contract negotiations. I focus on living by a few simple principles- tell people what you are going to do, then follow through and do what you said. Not complicated, or fancy, but my clients appreciate my straight forward approach and has served them (and my business) well.
